The RACGP Obesity Management Network has the following objectives:

1. Provide GP education and support in the evidence based management of obesity, to improve the wellbeing and health outcomes of patients with overweight and obesity
2. recognition of obesity as a chronic disease with a view to reduce the stigma experienced by patients, and to facilitate equitable access to evidence based standards of care
3. work towards the development of a Diploma in Obesity Management
4. support existing patients with obesity advocacy groups
